CVED 17TH SESSION ORIENTATION MEETING (12TH JUNE, 2015)

The ceremony started on a lively note with opening prayer by Mrs. Sibigam and Praise/Worship by Sis. Funke Oyekanmi. The Master of Ceremony was Kayode Aishida.

Mr. Solomon Gbadamosi gave a brief history of CVED while Pastor Nicholas introduced the courses for this session. The following are the courses available for this session:

  1. Beaded Jewelry and Wire works
  2. Screen Printing and Batik
  3. Catering
  4. Make-over/Head-gear Tying
  5. Chemical Production
  6. Adult Literacy (Basic and Advanced)
  7. Events Decoration
  8. Computer Appreciation
  9. Videography/Photography
  10. Hairdressing

The CVED coordinator, Pastor Jide introduced the instructors:

  1. ADULT LITERACY ADVANCED: Mrs. Mercy Esan
  2. ADULT LITERACY BASIC: Mrs. Cecelia Omoagbor
  3. PRINTING AND BATIK: Mr. Ayo Oyekanmi
  4. COMPUTER APPRECIATION: Mr. Solomon Gbadamosi
  5. CHEMICAL PRODUCTION: Mrs. Ayotunde and Mrs. Oyekanmi
  6. EVENTS DECORATION: Mrs. Adedina
  7. MAKE UP/HEAD GEAR: Mrs. Hadeza Omotayo
  8. HAIRDRESSING: Mrs. Blessing Agboola
  9. CATERING: Mrs. Funmilayo Alonge
  10. BEAD MAKING/WIRE WORKS: Mrs. Josephine Chukwuma
  11. VIDEO EDITING AND PHOTOGRAPHY: Mr. Michael Ilesanmi

cross-section of studentsThe video editing and photography class is a new class, just introduced in this session.The classes will be in operation every Friday from the hours of 12 noon – 2 pm and 3 pm – 5 pm concurrently. The following classes will take place from 12 noon to 2 pm:

  1. Catering class
  2. Adult Literacy class (Basic and Advanced)
  3. Decoration class
  4. Video editing class
  5. Chemical Production class

While these classes will run from 3 pm – 5 pm:

  1. Printing and Batik class
  2. Hairdressing class
  3. Bead making and wire works class
  4. Make up and head gear class
  5. Computer class

The CVED coordinator gave a brief charge to the new intakes; he said that the starting point in anyone’s life is his mindset. Believe in yourself. Think big, start small, start now. Until you take a step to start, you will never do anything. The key to success is starting with what you’ve learnt. Have a drive to start something and not only to just come and learn. The road to success is always under construction but anyone who has the drive to succeed will pass through it with ease.

In conclusion, the CVED coordinator prayed for the prospective students, and they were divided into classes to meet with their instructors for further information. The orientation ended at about 1:25 pm.
